Clubs and their Activities

The following clubs are effectively functioning in the Vidyalaya to give a wider scope to the children and tap their hidden talents. Each club has chalked out various programmes for the academic year 2008-09.

LANGUAGE CLUBS (ENGLISH, MALAYALAM, HINDI)

  1. Drama, skits and Mono acting.
  2. Spoken language.
  3. Cross word puzzle
  4. Versification.
  5. Debates and declamations.

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE LANGUAGE CLUBS:

  1. To attain mastery over four fold skills.
  2. To express themselves clearly.
  3. Mastery and good command over languages.

SCIENCE CLUB:

The following action plan is prepared under the aegis of the club.

June                 – Tree Plantation in the campus in connection with World Environment Day celebration
July                  – Seminar on the topic Laboratory safety and precaution to be followed 
August                         - Science quiz
September       – Preparation of exhibits
October            – Visit to nearby Science institutions
November        –  Poster making on themes related to Science.
December        –  i) Aids Awareness Programme in connection with World Aids Day
ii) School level Science Exhibition
January                        – Skit presentation on environmental issues.
February          – Science Week Celebration

OBJECTIVES OF THE SCIENCE CLUB:

  1. To develop scientific temper.
  2. To observe and analyze things with scientific temper.
  3. To develop critical thinking.
  4. To probe questions with What? Why? How?

SOCIAL SCIENCE CLUB

June                 -           Celebration of Environmental Day, collection of antique items for the Museum.
July                  -           Social Science quiz competition                                                                                   
Augus               -Essay competition on Pollution, Disaster Management and present problems of
the country like over population and corruption.
September       -           Preparation of different models on Geography, Civics and History.
November        -           Mock Parliament presentation
December        -           Role play in Social Science
January           -           Traffic Week Celebration
February          -           Multimedia presentations on different topics of Social Science.
March               -           Celebration of Consumer Day

 

OBJECTIVES OF SOCIAL SCIENCE CLUB:

  1. To bring awareness about the society.
  2. To appreciate cultural heritage.
  3. To have a positive attitude towards the society.

ART CLUB:

  1. Decorating the Vidyalaya on various occasions of celebration
  2. Art in Education – Eminent artists from the locality will be invited to teach the inlay art (Painting)
  3. Art Exhibition will be conducted
  4. Campus beautification will be taken up
  5. Preparation of banners, posters and paintings
  6. Involvement of students in various activities
  7. Landscape painting
  8. Conducting Art competitions
  9. Extending help to other departments.

OBJECTIVES OF ART CLUB:

  1. To enable to appreciate beauty.
  2. To develop aesthetic sense.
  3. To develop skill in drawing.

MUSIC CLUB:

    • Training the children to present cultural shows.
    • Training the children in learning of various Musical Instruments.
    • Training the students for correct pronunciation of the words.
