BOARDING FACILITIES
The school dining room provides nourishing, healthy meals to the students. The school Mess Committee designs the menu, keeping in mind the needs and desires of the children. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are served and the students often play an active part in menu planning. The school is very particular about cultural and religious sentiments and neither pork nor beef is ever served.
There Is a Cook and Two mess Helpers under the supervision of a Catering Assistant to meet the Kitchen requirements in addition to a few casual workers. Being residential in nature, management of proper mess is of great importance in Navodaya Vidyalayas. The mess is run by the Vidyalaya itself under the overall direction of the Chairman of the Mess Committee. Guidelines for the dining system have been issued in detail. For efficient functioning of the Mess, the Mess Committee has been constituted in the JNVs.

Mess Committee
For effective Mess Management,a Mess committee is constituted comprising of the following members:

The Duties and Functions of the Mess Committee:
The Duties and Functions of the Mess Committee are given below:

To plan and finalize the Menu and to suggest changes therein within existing financial norms.

To supervise the quality and quantity of food stuff procured for the Vidyalaya Mess.

To supervise the preparation & cooking of food in Mess.

To suggest ways and means for making local purchases of fresh provisions, reduction in wastage of food, maintenance of proper discipline in the mess and maintenance of cleanliness in the dining hall and surrounding areas.

To suggest and implement an effective serving system in the dining hall.
The tenure of the Mess Committee is for one calendar year. The Samiti has sanctioned one post of a Cook and two Mess helpers for this Vidyalaya .The Principal is allowed to appoint a few more helpers on part time / casual basis.
